Al-Sisi follows up on Grand Egyptian Museum project progress


Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled El-Enany reviewed the latest preparations to organize the major promotional event for Luxor governorate, which will witness the unveiling of the ''Road of Rams''.

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi directed on Sunday the government to use modern technology to secure the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) and apply the latest display techniques in a way that matches GEM’s value and importance as one of the world’s largest museums.

The Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady said that Al-Sisi followed up on the project progress. He ordered the development of the buildings and roads surrounding the Museum, to take advantage of its distinguished location with a view of the Pyramids area.

In this regard, President Al-Sisi directed the government to hold this celebration in the best possible way that reflects the diversity of Luxor as an integrated global tourist destination.

Al-Enany also reviewed the situation of the tourism movement in Egypt during the current period, asserting that various state bodies coordinate in this regard to promote and develop the tourism sector.
