Ibnsina Pharma, Bayer pen importation, distribution deal in Egypt


ArabFinance: Ibnsina Pharma (ISPH) signed an importation and distribution partnership with Bayer in Egypt, the company stated in a statement filed to the Egyptian Exchange on February 21st.

The deal involves importing and distributing products from both Bayer’s Over-the-Counter (OTC) portfolio within its Consumer Health Division and prescription-based medicine portfolio within its Pharmaceuticals Division.

The newly signed partnership will give Ibnsina’s patients across Egypt unprecedented access to the latest pharmaceutical treatments.

Bayer aims to expand business in Egypt to offer the best support to patients to be able to access their innovative therapies and expand their coverage all over Egypt.

Ibnsina reported an 18% Year on Year decline in its net profit in the first nine months of 2020, registering EGP 200.61 million, compared to EGP 245.62 million in the same period of 2019.

Ibnsina is an Egypt-based pharmaceutical distribution company. The company distributes a portfolio of pharmaceutical products from over 350 Egyptian and multinational companies to more than 35,000 customers including pharmacies, hospitals, retail outlets, and wholesalers.
