Chinese consortium to build EGP 250M power project


ArabFinance: The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) signed an agreement with a consortium of China’s Xian Electric Engineering Company, Energya Power and Telecom Solutions, and XD EGMAC Company to execute a substation in Alexandria, according to an official statement.

The contract value stands at EGP 250 million for the construction of a 66/220 kilovolt electric substation in Alexandria’s Hosh Eissa district, the statement added.

The construction works are expected to be completed within 12 months of signing the deal.

Egypt’s Cabinet earlier approved a loan agreement penned in 2019 between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the EETC to strengthen the transmission network across the country.
