MOPCO to set up new plant for melamine production in Damietta


ArabFinance: Misr Fertilizers Production Company (MOPCO) (MFPC) is planning to establish a plant for melamine production at the Free Zone in Damietta, sources told Asharq Business.

The new plant will be implemented at a total cost of $260 million, the sources added.

The plant is expected to produce 60,000 tons of melamine per annum, they noted.

It is worth noting that MOPCO reported a consolidated net profit after tax attributable to the parent company of EGP 3.52 billion for the nine-month period ended September 30th, 2021.

MOPCO, formerly Misr Oil Processing company, is an Egypt-based company that is engaged in the production, marketing, wholesaling, and distributing of fertilizers and petrochemical products. The company's various products include ammonia, urea, and nitrogen.
