MSMEDA injects EGP 106m into 3,705 small, micro enterprises


The fourth area at MSMEDA operates in the governorates of Alexandria, Kafr El-Sheikh, Beheira, and Matrouh.

Salah Maged, director of the fourth area at the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), has announced that the agency pumped EGP 106m into 3,705 small and micro enterprises in Kafr El-Sheikh, Beheira, and Borg El-Arab areas, generating over 7,000 job opportunities.

The fourth area at MSMEDA operates in the governorates of Alexandria, Kafr El-Sheikh, Beheira, and Matrouh.

Maged added that since the launch of the initiative until now, the Agency has provided a package of non-financial services in the targeted centers, which included five training courses to develop entrepreneurship skills, and about 40 introductory seminars to explain the services provided by the Agency and discuss the new project development law and the advantages it offers to owners of enterprises.

The conditions for 30 projects have also been reconciled, 150 final and temporary licenses have been issued, 55 classification and privilege certificates have been issued, and customers’ assistance has been prepared to create feasibility studies to start their businesses. In addition, 21 projects have been registered in the suppliers’ registry, and the barcode service has been made available for three enterprises. Moreover, four projects have been nominated to participate in the exhibitions held by the Agency.

These statements were made during a series of seminars held by the agency branch in Borg El Arab city to develop skills and rehabilitate women at the headquarters of the Hope Village Association for Development and Social Rehabilitation in the village of Bahig, in cooperation with the Gender Unit of the Technical Office of MSMEDA, with the aim of shedding light on the importance of women’s contribution to improving their families economic situation.

This is a continuation of the efforts made by MSMEDA within the framework of the presidential initiative “Decent Life”, which seeks to ease the burdens of citizens and raise the social and economic level of the children of the targeted centers by providing them with new skills that help them meet the requirements of the labor market or establish small enterprises that provide job opportunities and achieves a qualitative leap in the lives of citizens in the most needy areas.

Maher Attia, director of the agency’s branch in Borg El-Arab, said that the branch organized nearly 20 introductory seminars, which dealt with the services provided by the Agency to owners of existing enterprises and those wishing to establish new ones. They also discussed the advantages, facilities and tax incentives provided by the new enterprise development law. Those seminars witnessed active participation from the people of the villages and cities of Borg El Arab. Maher Attia stressed that citizens can go to the agency’s headquarters in the city of Borg El Arab (in the sixth neighborhood – commercial housing – Building No. 3) to learn about the various services provided by the agency.
