Siemens Energy contributes to Egypt’s energy, health sectors

ArabFinance: Siemens Energy inaugurated on October 15th a new service center and training academy in Ain Sokhna in the Suez Canal Economic Development Zone in Egypt, according to a press release.

Encompassing the Egyptian German Technical Academy, the service facility is “the first of its kind in the region”, Siemens said, noting that it comprises a repair center, a tooling unit, and a spare-parts warehouse, all are located under one roof.

The German institution signed an agreement of intent with the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company and the Egyptian Maintenance Company for setting up a joint venture at the service center to enable remote support for power plant outages.

“Siemens Energy will provide services for energy rotating equipment, including gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and compressors,” according to the statement.

A day earlier, Siemens as well as Siemens Energy opened a smart clinic in Shoubra el Kheima district near Cairo to provide healthcare for about 15,000 patients each year, according to a separate press release.

Egypt-based non-governmental organization Masr Bela Marad (Egypt without A Disease) will run the medical establishment.
