TikTok, Egyptian Clothing Bank launch initiative for Eid al Adha

ArabFinance: TikTok, a destination for short-form videos, is joining forces with the Egyptian Clothing Bank to provide new clothes for the families in need during Eid al Adha, according to a July 28th statement.

TikTok's Content Operations Director for North Africa Hany Kamel commented “ TikTok is keen to continue supporting its communities in need.'

Through the ' Share the Joy' hashtag challenge, TikTok will donate a new Eid outfit to a family in need with a cap of $30,000 (EGP 479,004) for each video a user will post under the hashtag.

Earlier this year, the TikTok community united to raise EGP 3 million for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to improve the lives of refugees in the region.

The community also raised another $200,000 under the #JoyofGiving hashtag to support the United Nations Children's Fund in delivering crucial resources to children and affected communities across the MENA region.

On the local level, TikTok earlier collaborated with the Egyptian Food Bank to launch the #cookfromhome challenge in collaboration with many content creators, foodies, and celebrity chefs to donate Iftar boxes to the families of day laborers during the holy month of Ramadan.

Earlier, the short-form mobile video platform introduced its global brand and platform for marketing solutions for brands — TikTok For Business.
