During the meeting, Nassar pointed out that Egypt is keen on luring more Japanese companies to invest in Egypt along with exchanging expertise with Japan in the industrial field, a matter which could greatly contribute to the development of the Egyptian industry and increase its competitiveness in the local, regional and international markets.

He also highlighted the importance of activating joint action this year at the bilateral and continental levels especially in light of Egypt's assumption of the presidency of the African Union earlier this month, in addition to Japan's hosting the G20 Summit in June and the convocation of Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 7) in August.

A number of agreements and memoranda of understanding will be signed during the visit of the Japanese delegation.
