FUTURALLIA : Tunisian-Egyptian business council to be created

TAP)- A Tunisian-Egyptian business council will be created on the occasion of the 22nd session of Futurallia forum which Tunisia is hosting for the first time on November 14-16 under the motto 'Future Partners to Grow Stronger.'

The event will be attended by ministers and business experts as well as Tunisian and foreign businessmen, said member of CONECT International in charge of the project Futurallia Tunisia 2018 Mongia Amara.

Amara Wednesday told a news conference in Tunis a partnership agreement will be signed by Tunisia and Egypt as part of this international and multisectoral partnership forum geared in particular towards managers of small- and medium-sized enterprises keen to see their businesses develop internationally.

The trade balance between Tunisia and Egypt shows an annual average fall of 1% in Tunisian exports during the period 2013-2017, according to the figures provided by the National Institute of Statistics.

Meanwhile, the annual average growth of Tunisian imports stood at 17% during this same period.

Chemicals account for 64% of Tunisia's total exports followed by machinery, equipment and appliances (16%) and agrifoodstuffs (6%).

Imports mainly include mineral products (48%), agri-food products (10%) and textile and clothing (8%).

Amara said several business opportunities are on offer for both countries to give impetus to trade as part of a win-win approach. 574 business operators, including 241 from Europe, the Maghreb, the Middle East , Asia and the USA, will attend the forum. Opportunities of cooperation and partnership in over 40 promising economic sectors will take centre stage.

In addition, a Startup village will be organised to showcase the innovative and ready for marketing solutions developed by twenty Tunisian startuppers. The forum will also host more than 8,000 B2B meetings for 600 participants.

CONECT President Tarek Chérif said the forum is a golden opportunity for Tunisian enterprises.
