ELSewedy Electric, Siemens awarded EPC contract for AWEER Plant in Dubai

ELSewedy Electric (SWDY), the leading Integrated Energy Solution Provider in the Middle East and Africa, as leader to a Consortium which includes SIEMENS AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT (Germany) announces receiving DEWA's award for the EPC contract of the AI AWEER 'H' station phase IV Power Plant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with a volume of approx.

300 million USD. The 800 megawatt gas-fired open cycle power project is located in AI Aweer in the Emirate of Dubai and shall start producing energy by 2020. The power plant will consist of three Siemens F-class gas turbines with generators adding to the Siemens F-class gas turbine fleet already widely utilized in DEWA's projects.

ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC's scope of work includes engineering, procurement and installation of balance of plant in addition to the erection and installation of the SIEMENS gas turbines. In addition, ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC will be responsible for the site preparation, levelling and the civil, construction and site utilities for the project Siemens scope of works includes fabrication, supply, testing and commissioning of the gas turbine generators in addition to joint project management.

This Project meets the continued growth of demand for electricity in the Emirate of Dubai and works to establish the status of Dubai as a leading model in the region for its effective and efficient electricity and water infrastructure.

ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC also targets to add another 1,200 megawatts from Beni Suefpower project in EGYPT, which is under construction in a Consortium with Siemens AG as well.
